About Us

What is RingShield?

RingShield is a prison phone security system designed to detect and block unauthorized communication in real time.

It stops inmates from abusing official phone systems by:

  • Blocking live in-call conference attempts (merging or three-way calls)

  • Detecting unauthorized VoIP numbers masked as legitimate contacts

  • Flagging external audio injection from speakerphone handoffs or media devices

  • Identifying suspicious call patterns, including call merging, redirection, and third-party relays

RingShield enforces communication policies that protect victims, witnesses, and correctional systems from abuse, witness tampering, and illegal coordination — all without requiring an app, device, or extra login.

It’s built to help prisons prevent crime before it happens and ensure inmates don’t spend extra years behind bars over avoidable phone violations

The conference calling feature on mobile phones has long posed a significant security threat in correctional facilities. It allows an inmate's authorized contact to discreetly add another participant to the call, bypassing prison monitoring systems and enabling illegal communication.

This vulnerability has made it difficult to effectively prevent unauthorized communication while still allowing legitimate connections between inmates and their families or lawyers.
